Tom A. Watson (1854-1934) was an American inventor, engineer, and businessman, best known as one of the pioneers in the development of the telephone and telegraph industries. Born on February 12, 1854, in Greensboro, Bacon County, Georgia, Watson grew up on a farm and showed an early interest in mechanics and technology.
