Edward Emmett "E. Howard" Hunt (December 7, 1918 – January 9, 2007) was an American author, CIA officer, and one of the Watergate burglars, a group that broke into the Democratic National Committee headquarters at the Watergate Complex in Washington, D.C., in June 1972, a scandal that ultimately led to the resignation of President Richard Nixon. Born in El Paso, Texas, Hunt attended Texas A&M University and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
