Bennie G. Thompson (born January 18, 1948) is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Mississippi's 2nd congressional district since 1993. Born in Indianola, Mississippi, Thompson attended Alcorn State University and Tougaloo College before earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from Jackson State University.
